Shane Levi Isaiah Thornton, of Salem, son of Kerry Thornton and
Cindy Owens Thornton, was born Dec. 12, 1994 in Yakima, WA. He
died July 8, 2012 at Mercy St. John’s Medical Center in Springfield,
Missouri at the age of 17 years 6 months and 26 days.
He attended Salem High School and attended services at
Immanuel Southern Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his father and mother, Kerry and Cindy Thornton
of Salem; brothers, Steve Griffin of Salem and Jon and Ben
Thornton of Yakima, WA; his grandparents, Ed and Janet Owens of
Salem and John and Betty Thornton of Naches, WA; his girlfriend,
Katie Beth Long of Highland; nieces, nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends.
Services are Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11 am at Immanuel Southern
Baptist Church with burial to follow in Union Cemetery under the
direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. Visitation is
Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Cox-Blevins Chapel.
